Product Description
The GDB gable decoration kit by wholesalemillwork.com is a simple, yet elegant way to add curb appeal to the front of your home. This gable decoration is made of high quality cellular PVC material. It is simple to install and will offer decades of maintenance free elegance and beauty. This product can be left in its natural, UV stabilized, non-yellowing White finish, or it can be coated with any good quality 100% acrylic coating(acrylic latex) to the color of your choice. A good quality coating on this material will not crack or peel, and will last for decades. This product comes with predrilled pocket holes to guide the screws in installation to your gable. Exterior grade screws are also included with the kit. Installation is straightforward and simple as you can see in the video. Depending on the roof pitch of your home, it may be necessary to trim the items slightly in order to get a proper fit for your gable. Trimming can be easily accomplished using standard woodworking tools.
We do not pre-drill the holes where the side pieces fit against the center post, as the position of these holes will vary depending on your roof pitch. We suggest that you lay out the pieces on a flat surface, in the proper positioning to fit your gable, so that you can do any trimming and pre-drill the center post holes before final installation of the kit in your gable. If you prefer, you can attach the side pieces to the center post while the kit is on a flat surface, and then install the unit into your gable in one piece.
If you find, depending on your roof pitch, that the center post appears to be too long, you can easily trim to your preferred length using any standard woodworking Circular saw or jigsaw. The ball finial for the bottom of the post comes detached from the post and with the mounting screw built into it, for easy attachment once your center post is at the preferred length.
